What the audit checks
Fourteen things Google and your customers look at, weighted by how much they matter. Where it makes sense, you are measured against the businesses that actually show up next to you, not against a made-up ideal.
The basics Google needs
Is the profile claimed? Does it have a real description, opening hours, a phone number and a working, secure website? Missing basics are the cheapest points you will ever win.
Categories
Your primary and secondary categories decide which searches you can appear in at all. We list the categories the leaders near you use that you do not.
Reviews and rating
Your review count against the median of your top 3 competitors, and whether your rating clears the 4.5 stars many people filter for.
Photos
How many photos you have against the businesses beside you. Profiles with plenty of real, recent photos get more clicks and more calls.
Services, attributes, booking
Whether you list your services, tick the attributes that describe how you serve people, and give customers a booking or contact link.
Your website and phone
We open your website, check it loads over https, and look for the same phone number your Google profile shows. Mismatched details cost trust.
Your map pack position
A live Google Maps search for your primary category, run from your own address. If you are not top 3 there, you are not top 3 anywhere.
The plain-English fix list
Every check that is not a pass comes with what we found and exactly what to do about it, written for a business owner, not a marketer.
Questions people ask
Is the Google Business Profile audit really free?
Yes. Your score, your map pack rank, the comparison with your competitors and the pass or fail on every check are free with no signup. If you want the detailed fix list, we ask for your name and email so we can send it to you. You get three audits a day.
What data does the audit use?
Only public information: your live Google Business Profile, the profiles of the three businesses that come up with you on Google Maps for your main category, and your public website. We do not need a login or access to your Google account.
How long does it take to improve my Google ranking?
Fixing the basics (categories, description, hours, services) takes an afternoon and Google usually reflects it within days. Reviews and photos are steady work: most businesses see real movement on Google Maps in months three to four, and more after six months. Anyone promising the top spot next week is selling something.
I am a service-area business with no public address. Does it still work?
Yes. If your profile hides your address, we check your ranking for your main category in your city instead of from a pin. The rest of the checks work the same way.
Why is my score different from another audit tool?
Every tool weighs things differently. Ours compares you with the businesses that actually rank next to you, so a photo count that is fine in one town can be behind in another. Read the fix list rather than the single number.
My business did not show up in the search. What now?
Add your city and state, or open your business on Google Maps, tap Share, and paste that link into the box.
